.TLK File

The tlk file extension is associated with the BioWare Aurora and Infinity game engines used by Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate computer games and others.

The tlk files called talk tables are used for translation of BioWare games to other languages.

The talk table file, called dialog.tlk (and dialogf.tlk, containing feminine strings for certain languages), contains all the strings that the game will display to the user and which therefore need to be translated.

As far as we know, this .tlk file type can't be converted to any other file format. This is usually the case of system, configuration, temporary, or data files containing data exclusive to only one software and used for its own purposes. Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
