File extension zvi is mainly related to Zeiss Vision Image. ZVI format has been developed by Carl Zeiss specifically to meet the requirements of modern microscopy.

You can use it to save images including multidimensional, time lapse or Z-stack images. The format groups together your image data with all relevant information in a compact file:

All information is available at all times and images can be reproduced under identical conditions even years later.
