What is an .UDF file?

File extension udf is associated with the UDF (Universal Disk Format) disk image format.

UDF format is used by rewritable optical disks (CD/DVD) to store data and allows users to modify data (delete, copy operations) on these disks on-fly.

You can find to be this type of udf files to be a stored disk image of CD/DVD-RW medium.

Files with udf extension can mostly be found as disk images saved in the Universal Disk Format. Used to backup physical discs.
