File extension pdg is nowadays mainly related to a Chinese standard for e-books, documents similar to PDF.

This format is for example used by Chinamaxx, China's largest digital library but originally was mainly used by SSReader, one of the was largest online Chinese library, offering more than 500 thousand e-books, 3 million dissertation, covering politics, business, literature, computer, military, science and so on.

Contains digital publication with restricted rights and usually only has limited time for viewing after which it is automatically deleted.

This pdg file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

Files with pdg extension can be found as e-books downloaded from one of the China's digital libraries, such as SSReader or Chinamaxx.

Use SSreader to open and view *.pdg files or any of the viewers provided by Chinese digital libraries.

How to convert:

It is probably very hard, if not impossible to export *.pdg e-books to something else. Looks like closed format.
