What is an .OGM file?

The ogm file extension is used for one of the Ogg Vorbis formats. Vorbis is an open source project headed by the Xiph.Org Foundation.

OGM is a compressed video container format that uses Ogg Vorbis compression and which can contain both Ogg Vorbis audio and a video streams. Might also include switchable subtitles.

The ogm files may be encoded using DivX, XviD, Theora, or other codecs, which means the video player also must support the appropriate codec in order to play the file.
