It seems that "jyk" is not actually a file extension, but a "label" of certain warez groups that offer rips of movies over the P2P networks.

JYK is usually just part of the file name and the the files are in actually in one of the common multimedia formats, i.e. AVIs, MP4s, MKVs or similar.

This mainly confuses users that have file extensions of known formats hidden by default.

Files with jyk in file name are usually movies playable in any video player, because they are usually in one of the common file formats.
