What is an .GBO file?

The gbo file extension seems to be mainly used for one of the gerber formats. The gbo file contains bottom overlay (silk screen) PCB data.

Generally speaking, a gerber file is a file format used by printed circuit board manufacturing machines to layout electrical connections such as traces, vias, and pads (the component footprints on the PCB). In addition, the file contains information for drilling, and milling the completed circuit board.

Files with gbo file extension are in most cases PCB designs in one of the so called gerber formats. Used for design and manufacturing of printed circuit boards.

How to open:

Use Altium designer or similar PCB software to open and edit *.gbo files.

How to convert:

Various gerber formats can be typically converted between each other so they can be used in different programs.
