The wiz file extension is primarily associated with Microsoft Office wizards, which are small step by step programs used by some Office application such as Microsoft Word of Microsoft Publisher.

These wiz files are used for the executable wizards, which can contain macros, templates, and other user interface elements, that are used to guide users through a series of steps in completing a complex or repetitive task.

The wiz file can be for example created in Microsoft Word by opening a new document template, creating new macros for it, saving the template as a .dot file, and afterwards renaming the dot file extension to wiz. Some wizards can be encrypted and cannot be modified.

 

Files with wiz file extension can be mainly found as wizards from Microsoft Office software. Used to guide user through some settings process.

There seems to be no use or any way how this type of .wiz file could be converted to anything else.
