.WAB File

File extension wab is associated with Microsoft Windows Address Book. Windows Address Book is a component of Microsoft Windows that lets users keep a single list of contacts that can be shared by multiple programs.

It is most commonly used by Outlook Express. It was introduced with Internet Explorer 3 in 1996 and improved in subsequent versions.

The Windows Address Book API can query LDAP servers or read/write data to a local .wab file. In Windows Vista, Windows Address Book was replaced with Windows Contacts.

The wab files are very similar to Microsoft Personal Address Book pab files.

Files with wab file extension may be found as contact archives in Microsoft Windows Address Book format that was used in Outlook Express, a now discontinued email client.

Usually *.wab files are imported to email clients and other personal data managers.

How to convert:

Some programs may offer an export function for contacts so they can be saved in a separate exchange format like ICS or VCF.
