What's on this Page
The vob file extension is used for DVD Video Object files, which are in basically DVD movie files.
The vob file is a container file which includes most of the movies data, including the video and audio streams, along with subtitles and any menu features, and is so similar to MPEG-2 files that, apparently, you may be able to manually change the file extension to mpg or mpeg and it should still play.
The VOB contains H.262/MPEG-2 Part 2 or MPEG-1 Part 2 video, MPEG-1 Audio Layer II or MPEG-2 Audio Layer II audio.
The vob files can be played on a range of video programs. Generally your system will have a DVD player installed along with its DVD drive.
A vob file extension is commonly used for Video Object files found on DVDs with movies. A very common video format playable in almost any media player.
