What's on this Page
The sr file extension is associated with the Sun raster bitmap graphics file format.
Sun Rasterfiles are a bitmap storage format developed by Sun Microsystems. The format is well supported on Sun workstations, but is less widely supported elsewhere.
The files can store bitmaps at a variety of color depths: monochrome, 8-bit gray scale, 256 color with a palette, 24-bit TrueColor or 32-bit TrueColor.
Additionally the data in the file can be stored in either of two bytes orders, and the bitmap may either by not compressed or compressed using a Run-length Compression scheme.
Please Note: As there is a wide variety of possible options in this format, some applications may not support (or read) all possible variations of this format.
This sr file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.
This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.
Files with sr file extension may be often found as raster graphics saved in old Sun raster bitmap graphics format.
