The snt file extension is related to Microsoft Windows and its Sticky Notes app for desktop.

Sticky Notes is a part of Microsoft Windows from Windows XP tablet edition. Easy software to put sticks with notes on Windows desktop and replace paper ones.

A typical sticky note contains information written on a small piece of colored paper that is then "stuck" to a document. Digital sticky notes provide similar functionality for electronic documents, but with the added flexibility to include many other types of content such as typed text, handwritten notes (for example, Tablet PC "ink" strokes), or Web links.

Sticky Notes data file path in Windows 7:

C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt

Sticky Notes data file path in Windows Vista:

C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\Sticky.snt

The snt files from Windows Vista are not compatible with Sticky Notes from Windows 7. However, you can use snt files from Windows 7 in Windows 8 and Windows 10.

Rename the local system's StickyNotes.snt file and copy your StickyNotes.snt to same place.

How to open:

This file is opened or created when you run Sticky Notes application in Windows. If file exists, program opens with user sticky notes. Notes are automaticaly saved. You can add Sticky Notes app to StartUp programs and open it automatically after Windows start.

How to convert:

Sticky Notes app is not able to save notes to other file format. However you can use copy-paste shortcut and copy text from the note to text files, e-mails other note apps, etc.
