What is an .SKIN file?

The skin file extension is frequently used for files that contains skins. Skins generally change the appearance of graphic user interface of certain program to change its look - and just that.

Skins do not contain any additional data or add-ons for the programs, it is just pure aesthetical thing. Programs usually contain one or more skins so user can customize the interface. Skins are also very popular amongst users and fan-made ones are often exchanged on internet.

These files are only usable in the program for which they are meant. They won't work in anything else.

How to convert:

Sometimes skins can be exported so they can be used in a different program, but overall this are not possible.
