What is an .SISX file?

File extension sisx is mainly associated with Symbian OS and used for program installation files from Symbian OS version 9.1 and higher.

SISX file format is similar to SIS Symbian installation file format, that is used on older versions of Symbian OS.

The SISX is the default installation file format used in Symbian OS operating system that is used by Nokia, Motorola or Samsung in theirs smart phones as operating system.

The sisx files contain archives, installation packages used by the Symbian OS.

This sisx file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

Files with sisx extension can be typically found as executable installation files for mostly Symbian based mobile phones (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung).

How to open:

SISXplorer allows you to inspect and extract all the files contained inside a *.sisx file (3rd edition installation packages).

How to convert:

Some special Nokia utilities allows users to convert SISX to previously used SIS format, or even to Java.
