What is an .SCH file?

File extension sch is commonly used in various CAD programs for files that contain saved schematics, in most cases Printed Circuit Boards Schematics.

Schematics represent a simplified graphical diagram, showing standardized symbols and connections between various parts and devices.

Schematics in sch files are used by numerous CAD and CAE programs, and can also be sometimes interchangeable.

However, in most cases they are in some proprietary format usable only in the original program.

Files with sch extension are generally 3D schematics created and saved in one of the CAD programs.
