The sav file extension is generally used for saved game files, also simply known as gamesaves, which contain saved progress of player in a computer game.

How to open:

Generally, *.sav files are not meant to be opened directly, but from inside their respective programs. However some cheating programs may open *.sav files and alter their data.

How to convert:

There is no way how to convert *.sav file from one game to another (for example from OpenTTD to Chaser). However, you can find game *.sav file editor and export/edit some data from gamesaves for some purposes, like cheating, customizing etc.
