What is an .ROL file?

The rol music format is known as one of the popular music format for the AdLib's FM synthesizer, originally it appeared for Roland's synthesizers. Nobody knows who formulated this format for which hardware/software, but it got the way to the AdLib's standard when AdLib Visual Composer applied ROL as its music format in 1989. The instrument data is managed on INS/BNK files separately.

This rol file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

A rol file extension is associated with the AdLib Visual Composer and used for its music data files.
