File extension preset are mainly related to Flare, an easy to use graphic program for adjusting images and photographs on Mac.

Flare Preset is a custom designed group of effects for Flare that you can apply to your photographs with a single click.

How to open:

To use preset simply double-click on the icon and it will be installed in the proper location and will appear in the Flare Presets list. If you would like to remove a preset from the list use the same method. Click on the gear icon and choose "Delete".

How to convert:

It is unlikely that you can directly convert .preset files, you can however apply them to photos.
