File extension notebook is mainly associated with SMART Notebook education program for teachers and lectors and used for one of its unique file types.

NOTEBOOK format is the default multimedia format used by SMART Notebook. Previously XBK format was used for this purpose and was replaced by this new file type.

Files with notebook extension can be found as the default file type used in latest versions of SMART Notebook program.
