.NK2 File

The nk2 file extension is associated with Microsoft Outlook, a personal information manager, which is part of Microsoft Office, developed by Microsoft Corporation.

The *.nk2 files are used by the Auto-Complete feature. Outlook's auto-complete feature attempts to be helpful by suggesting email names that are similar to what you're typing. A couple of keystrokes, an auto-complete suggestion, and you don't have to type the entire email name every time. Seems both simple and handy.

The *.nk2 file is hidden by default. The older versions of Microsoft Outlook were using the .nick file extension instead.

How to convert:

As far as we know, this .nk2 file type can't be converted to any other file format. This is usually the case of system, configuration, temporary, or data files containing data exclusive to only one software and used for its own purposes. Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
