.NCO File

The nco file extension represents a ZIP compressed backup file created by Nero BackItUp application that contains data to be backed up to a CD or DVD.

Nero BackItUp was distributed as a part of NERO suite. However, it is now is distributed as stand alone backup utility.

Non-encrypted .nco files can be decompressed by any archiver capable of decompressing common zip files.

Files with nco file extension may be typically encountered as backup files created using the Nero BackItUp suite. Basically encrypted and occasionally also non-encrypted ZIP file with unique extension.

How to open:

Open with Nero BackItUp and use restore command, you should get a default "Save as..." dialog box from which you can save the files with their normal extension and uncompressed.

How to convert:

A *.nco file is just a *.zip file under Nero's proprietary extension. Rename the extension and you will be able to open and extract the archive using any program that can open *.zip files.
