MVC formatting is intended for encoding stereoscopic (two-view) 3D video, as well as free viewpoint television and multi-view 3D television.

Files with mvc file extension can be found as special proprietary videos in the Multiview Video Coding format.

How to open:

Mainly used in Sony's DoStudio, but perhaps can be edited in other commercial video editing tools. May require a plugin though. No open source programs support this format as of 2015.

How to convert:

Some sort of multimedia conversion for this type of *.mvc files is perhaps possible and allow export to some common video format.
