.MPD File

The mpd file extension is mainly associated with Microsoft Project, a project management software program developed and sold by Microsoft Corporation. The .mpd files contain project data stored in a Microsoft Access-compliant format.

The mpd files were used to save and load entire projects in a relational records-based database format.
