.MC2 File

The mc2 file extension is mainly related to Sierra MasterCook software. MasterCook is an older program used to organize recipes and cookbooks.

These mc2 files contains the textual part of recipes and are accompanied by another file in MCX format that contains pictures.

Files with mc2 extension are cookbook recipe texts for Sierra MasterCook program.

How to open:

You can add these files to your cookbook database if you simply copy the *.mc2 file to the MY COLLECTION folder that is within the MasterCook folder on your computer.

How to convert:

As far as we know, this .mc2 file type can't be converted to any other file format. This is usually the case of system, configuration, temporary, or data files containing data exclusive to only one software and used for its own purposes. Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
