.LRCAT File

File extension lrcat is related to Adobe Lightroom and used for its Lightroom catalog files.

The program supports the creation of multiple databases - also known as catalogs (for individual clients and photo projects or for students and their corresponding assignments for example).

Lightroom catalogs can be located on a local, remote or removable drive for those who need portability. It can be a big file with common name: catalog-default.lrcat.

Catalog contain all information about photos imported to Lightroom, original source photos paths, meta information, ratings, keywords, photo settings etc.

How to open:

Use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to open .lrcat catalog files.

How to convert:

You can export photos from catalog using Lightroom, but you need source photos as well. Catalog itself is only a database file.
