File extension keystore is associated with the Java platform and various software created using JAVA programming language.

The .keystore file is a database used by JDK "keytool" command and KeyStore class to store private keys, and public key certificates. It is protected and encrypted against unauthorized access.

Keystore files are also used by Google Play store to identify an author of app.

Files with keystore extension are almost always keytool key databases from Java environment and programming language.
