The k3 file extension is associated with the DataFlex a 4GL object oriented database programming language introduced in 1978 by Data Access Corporation. The k3 file stores index of DataFlex datafiles.

DataFlex index files have a .K* extension. The * of K* is a one or two digit number. Values of K* will range from K1 through K15.
