The ismc file extension is mainly related to Microsoft's Smooth Streaming service. Smooth Streaming is extension for Internet Information Services (IIS) and used to streaming video in to Silverlight and other compatible clients.

The ismc file contains a client manifest generated for a ismv fragment multimedia content.

Files with ismc file extension can be usually found as special client manifest files for videos in Smooth Streaming fragmented MPEG-4 video format.

It does not appear possible to access this file type manually, it is access by the streaming player of the actual multimedia content (*.ismv usually).

How to convert:

This file type is not meant to be converted to anything else.
