.IMOVIEPROJECT File

The imoviproject file extension is mainly related to the Apple iMovie app. and used for the default project format used in previous versions of the program.

iMovie project contains video, audio clips, special effects, text overlays, and chapter markers. File can be exported to DVD or in another video file formats.

This extension was used in previous version of iMovie and was replaced with imovieproj file extension in latest version of the program.

This imovieproject file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

Files with imovieproject file extension can be found as projects created and saved in older versions of iMovie program. Replaced by imovieproj suffix.

How to convert:

It seems that iMovie allows export to MP4 format, once you have .mp4 file you can convert it to another format via a multimedia converter.
