The imovieproj file extension is mainly related to the iMovie video editing program for OS X (macOS).

This file contains a project that contains video, audio clips, special effects, text overlays, and chapter markers. File can be exported to DVD or in another video file formats.

This extension is used in the latest version of iMovie and replaced the previous imovieproject extension used by the program.

Files with imovieproj file extension can be usually found as projects created and saved in latest versions of iMovie OS X (macOS) app.
