The iam file extension is probably best know for its use in Autodesk Inventor, a visualization and product design software developed and marketed by Autodesk.

The iam file contains data in Inventor's assembly format. Probably some of the output formats of product design.

Files with iam file suffix may be usually found as assembly files created and saved in the Autodesk Inventor program.

How to open:

Use AutoDesk Inventor too pen and work with the .iam files.

How to convert:

It is possible that whole assemblies or just parts of them can be converted to other CAD formats.
