.HL1 File

The hl1 file extension is associated with the legendary first person shooter computer game called Half-Life released in 1998 for PCs and Playstation 2 gaming console.

The hl1 file contains saved gamer's position in the game.

In default Half-Life stores game positions in folder:

\Half-Life\valve\SAVE\

How to open:

Use Load Game option in Half-Life to open the saved game positions.

How to convert:

As far as we know, this .hl1 file type can't be converted to any other file format. This is usually the case of system, configuration, temporary, or data files containing data exclusive to only one software and used for its own purposes. Also some proprietary or closed file formats cannot be converted to more common file types in order to protect the intellectual property of the developer, which is for example the case of some DRM-protected multimedia files.
