File extension enw is mainly related to EndNote and used for its citation files.

EndNote is a reference management software package, used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles developed by Thomson Reuters for both Windows and Mac OS X (macOS) platforms.

The enw file is basically a text file with EndNote tagging (e.g. %A for Author, %T for Title) added to it.

Files with enw extension can be most commonly encountered as saved citations for EndNote reference management software.

How to open:

Use EndNote to import *.enw file, or rename the file extension to TXT and open it in any text editor.

How to convert:

EndNote citation files are stored in simple text format, rename *.enw to *.txt and you are able to transform citation to other text file formats via text editing tools.
