What is an .EIP file?

The eip file extension is related to a special Enhanced Image Package format used by Capture One.

Capture One from version 4.7 introduces this new file format named EIP, or Enhanced Image Package. EIP file format allows the photographer to combine the settings, LCC file (if applicable), and raw file into one portable file.

The eip file is ZIP archive that stores a raw image file (tif, or iiq file), a settings file, and an LCC file (if applicable) into one container.

To view content of eip file rename eip file extension to zip and open it in any compression tool.

The Capture One for Windows and Mac is able to view eip files, also Windows (Windows Photos) and OS X (macOS) (Quick Look) viewers are able to view eip files.

Extracted tif, or iiq files are also viewable in various apps, like Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

An eip file extension is associated with the Enhanced Image Package file format used to store RAW picture and LCC data in one single file.
