The egg-info file extension is mainly related to so called Python Eggs.  A "Python egg" is a logical structure embodying the release of a specific version of a Python project, comprising its code, resources, and metadata.

The egg-info file or directory is placed *adjacent* to the  project's code and resources, that directly contains the project's metadata.

How to open:

Probably can be viewed and edited in any text editor.

How to convert:

Probably cannot be converted to anything else.
