.ECML File

File extension ecml is mainly related to QuickBooks accounting software and used for license registration files generated when a new copy of the program is successfully registered.

Sometimes, these files might end corrupted and it is needed to delete them to renew the registration process. Typically these files (EntitlementDataStore.ecml) are located within hidden folder inside the QuickBooks main directory.

How to open:

License files are not meant to be opened manually, they just need to be located in the program folder so they are properly loaded and verified.

How to convert:

It is unlikely that you can convert .ecml files to anything else. You should not even attempt to edit it.
