What is an .CRYPZ file?

The crypz file extension is related to the encrypted files produced by one of the latest variant of ransomware labeled as CryptXXX.

It encrypts users files and demands ransom to be paid in bitcoins.

Note: Some later variants of CryptXXX used randomized extension consisting of 5 hexadecimal characters instead the original crypz. However, the latest version of this ransomware does not use special extension at all and also misleads users by its new name "Microsoft Decryptor".

On top of that, latest versions of CryptXXX seems to also scramble the file name and randomize it.

How to open:

Such files can only be accessed again and recovered when you pay the ransom in bitcoins. You can also wait until new decrypter is made and available for public.

How to convert:

Once you have decrypted the affected files, you can convert the content.
