.CRYPT11 File

File extension crypt11 seems to be mainly related to some of the earlier versions of WhatsApp Messenger, an instant messaging service and client for various mobile platforms.

A .crypt11 file stores encrypted and protected database with chat history similar to SQLite database format.

By default, the file is called: msgstore.db.crypt11 and is stored on phone SDcard/WhatsApp/Databases folder.

This crypt11 file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

How to open:

You can restore .crypt11 backups with the default function of the WhatsApp program. You may even transfer them to another device, provided it uses same telephone number.

How to convert:

Omni-Crypt and other similar tools should be able to convert or export .crypt11 files to original .crypt or .db format.
