The cmod file extension is related to Celestia, a free space simulation for exploration of universe.

The cmod file is the default file type for Celestia models.

 A Model consists of a library of materials together with a list of meshes. Each mesh object contains a pool of vertices and a set of primitive groups. A primitive groups consists of a a primitive group type and a list of vertex indices.

Files with cmod file extension can be found as 3D graphics models for Celestia free space simulation program.
