The bup file extension is commonly backup of DVD IFO format.

The bup files are used by a variety of software as a backup of the ifo files found on DVDs. IFO format are used to store various information on the DVD, such as tracks or subtitles.

The backup is useful in case the primary VIDEO_TS.IFO file is unavailable or corrupted (due to a scratch on the surface of the disc). BUP files should be accessed by a media player and it shouldn't be necessary to open directly by yourself.

Much like IFO files, BUP files are not encrypted.

Also used by old program CD Indexer which was used to create a mirrors of CDs and drives. But its not related to this format, just shares the same extension.

BUP format can be opened and played in various applications such as WinDVD, Nero ShowTime, Apple DVD Studio Pro or PowerDVD.

How to convert:

There is no way how to convert BUP file to other file format.
