.ACTION File

The action file extension is associated with Automator.

The action files contains specific action, which can be combined to create automated process.

Default system Automator actions files are located in:

/System/Library/Automator

An user Automator actions files are located in Library/Automator folder under macOS operating system.

Apple Automator application and script functionality is the native part of Apple macOS (MaC OS X).

Files with .action file extension are saved action scripts for Automator app.

How to open:

Use Automator under OS X (macOS) to edit action or create a new one or create MAC OS X application package from action to run script.

How to convert:

There is no way how to convert *.action file to other formats.
