The hdr file extension is associated with Adobe Photoshop and used for files containing radiance map data.

Radiance maps are useful for representing true illumination values in image-based rendering applications, and are useful for recording incident illumination and using this light to illuminate CG objects for realistic compositing.

HDR is also abbreviation for High Dynamic Range imaging technique.

How to open:

Use Adobe Photoshop to work with the* .hdr files.

How to convert:

Conversion to other formats is not possible.
